Examinations & Certificates
All students are required to prepare a presentation on some aspect of Turkish culture that has been of particular interest and to take a viva voce exam before some members of the course faculty at the end of the programme. Each candidate is awarded a certificate of attendance and given a detailed reference on his or her performance. Enthusiasm and application are recognised as much as academic achievement. This is a course to enjoy after all those years at school, but it is also aimed to prepare students for what lies ahead at university and in later life.

Accommodation
In Istanbul, accommodation is at the Taslik Hotel where students share rooms (some with views of the Bosphorus). The hotel is situated in the fashionable part of the city and is a five-minute walk from Istanbul Technical University where many of the classes are held.
In London, accommodation is not provided, but help in finding such will be given if requested in advance.

Supervision
Paul Trigg and Erdem Sontur are present in London and Istanbul throughout the course and are on hand to help at any time. However, it must be stressed that students are treated as adults and are not, therefore, under constant supervision.

Eligibility
The course is open to any student over the age of eighteen. Places are limited to twenty-five, as it is believed that this helps foster a better group dynamic while also allowing students to receive more individual attention.
Frequency
There are two courses a year, one in early Spring and the other in late Autumn. Bookings can be taken up to two years in advance. Enquiries can be made by e-mail or by letter, and a mobile phone line is open on a weekday basis.

Fees
£6,200 per student (including £500 deposit)
The fees include the return flight (London-Istanbul, Istanbul-London) and transfers to and from the hotel in Istanbul. Accommodation at a three-star hotel in Istanbul is included. Breakfast and dinner are provided during the week. Any entrance charges for visits to museums will be met by the Foundation, as will the cost of the Turkish language programme at the ITBA. Where there are options, i.e. the classes in calligraphy, cooking or drawing, the cost of tuition in one subject will be covered by the Foundation.
